I started Happy Hound August 9, 2009 when I was 15. It started out all fun and games, but people took me seriously... It's been one adventure after another, and I wouldn't trade it for anything. I've always been an animal lover, but things really took off when I got my first job working at a local pet store in Daphne the I was a freshmen in high school. I loved the job and learned a ton over the year that I worked there, and decided to strike out on my own and provide a more individualized pet care service option.
Since starting this business, I've been blessed with unimagined success in the forms of friends, mentors, life lessons, and best of all a profession that makes me look forward to getting out of bed everyday.
Thank you all for making this dream a reality!
Ever since I was very young, I've had an incessant desire to love and care for animals of all kinds: big or small, black or white, covered in fur or dressed in feathers. Working with Happy Hound is a dream come true. I treat each and every pet that I look after as my own. I feel rewarded everyday I go to work. I can say without a doubt this is hands down my favorite job! :)
Since I was young I have always loved animals and would sometimes bring home a lost dog or cat and love on them until we found the owner. As a child my dream job was to become a veterinarian. I love working for Happy Hound because I enjoy going to work each day. What better way to spend your workday then to get lots of love from some adorable fur-babies! .
Hello, my name is Savana Trader, I’m currently pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Marine Biology. My love for all animals has been a part of me from a very young age. I’ve always had pets and love to surround myself with them, they bring me so much joy and laughter. I love that I have the opportunity to meet and care for all of these sweet babies, this is the most gratifying job. I will always provide the best care that I would want for my own fur babies.
Hello! My name is Nic Cockrell and I’m a senior in high school. Growing up my family have owned a variety of animals. From this, I’ve gained lots of experience and love for all kinds of animals! Any animal I meet I immediately fall in love with and treat as if they were my own. Animals have always been a big part in my life and I’m so thankful for the opportunity Happy Hound gives me to express my passion and joy back towards as many fluffy, scaled, and shelled friends as I can!
I was fortunate enough to grow up surrounded by many dogs, cats, chickens, and even some goats, pigs, and horses! As an adult I enjoy taking my American Pit Bull Terrier, Moose, on adventures locally and across the country. Moose and I enjoy hiking, kayaking, foraging. and photography. My second greatest joy is getting to meet and care for other people's pets!! I consider it an honor to be able to spend time with all your precious babies and I promise to love them as if they were my own.
We could have chosen a different career, but this is where our heart is. We love animals and the people they belong to. Loving animals, people, and our community comes naturally.
Community service is rooted in the hearts of the Happy Hound family. Each of our pet sitters are involved in community activity like medical missions, youth group outreach, special need programs, and animal rescue projects.
We're proud to say that 10 percent of all Happy Hound profits go directly to local missions and animal rescues! By partnering with Happy Hound, you're not only partnering with a company that values you, but you're investing in a company that values your community at large.
